In the 8th minute, Frank Murillo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fadhly Muchtaji. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 11th minute Budi Chaniago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Estavan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Florentino Estavan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Budi Chaniago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filiberto Phelipe in the 12th minute of play forced U21 Malaysia's goalkeeper Fadhly Muchtaji to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The U21 Mexico fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when U21 Mexico's Frank Murillo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. U21 Mexico were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after U21 Malaysia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Clark Kent took the corner. Mateo Gaspard was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Fery Martin charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fery Martin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of U21 Mexico booed when U21 Malaysia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fery Martin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th match minute, U21 Malaysia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rexy Eiboy to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank Murillo in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fadhly Muchtaji saved U21 Malaysia from getting behind. Fadhly Muchtaji stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frank Murillo's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Fadhly Muchtaji was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Filiberto Phelipe showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 31 minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Fadhly Muchtaji successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Fadhly Muchtaji showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Murillo in the 38th minute of the match. Frank Murillo took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fadhly Muchtaji. Fadhly Muchtaji dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Clark Kent could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Fadhly Muchtaji made a huge save. A collision led to U21 Mexico getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Frank Murillo hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

U21 Mexico's Teofilo Sarracino was substituted for Raimundo Rey. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Murillo was the one to do the kick off. Fadhly Muchtaji didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Filiberto Phelipe went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Fadhly Muchtaji made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filiberto Phelipe in the 62nd minute of play. U21 Mexico's Hugo Aureo was substituted for Frank Murillo. U21 Malaysia's Fadhly Muchtaji played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Aureo in the 68th minute of play. After having played for 69 minutes, Teofilo Sarracino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teofilo Sarracino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 71 minutes into the match, U21 Mexico's goalkeeper Florentino Estavan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sipiongot Hidayat. 73 minutes into the match, U21 Malaysia's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Aureo came free, but Fadhly Muchtaji reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, Hugo Aureo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Fadhly Muchtaji was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 79 minutes into the match, U21 Malaysia's goal looked a bit too open when Teofilo Sarracino came free, but Fadhly Muchtaji reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute César Delgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fadhly Muchtaji saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Teofilo Sarracino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. After a rather tough play, U21 Malaysia's Tiar Cahyono Putro got a free kick in the 88th minute. Mateo Gaspard might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fadhly Muchtaji. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mateo Gaspard ran back to his position shaking his head. Fadhly Muchtaji showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Delgado in the 91st minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, Hugo Aureo notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of U21 Malaysia's Fadhly Muchtaji. Fadhly Muchtaji was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When U21 Mexico's César Delgado in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Malaysia's goalie prevented a goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. U21 Mexico fully deserved thier win.
