The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

In the 81stth minute of the game Eiríkur Baldursson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Malta's Johnny Papagiancupolo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 82 minutes into the match, U21 Malta's goal looked a bit too open when Þengill Ernirsson came free, but Johnny Papagiancupolo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
