Georges Tapie was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joe Absalon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Xzavion Sando made a huge save. Xzavion Sando showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joe Absalon in the 18th minute of the match. U21 Paraguay's Xzavion Sando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pacôme Musso in the 22nd minute of play. Xzavion Sando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pacôme Musso in the 28th minute of play. Georges Tapie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gagriel Argoños's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Gagriel Argoños put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Georges Tapie. A collision led to U21 Paraguay getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Lorencio Cerredelo hit a great ball. Xzavion Sando made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bob Curt in the 33rd minute. U21 Paraguay's Lon Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half U21 Paraguay were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a rather tough play, U21 France's Joe Absalon got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 56th minute, Pacôme Musso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee ignored U21 Paraguay's protests and gave Esteban Mariano a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, U21 Paraguay's Esteban Mariano got a free kick in the 87th minute.
