Modesto Orlin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tiburcio Galindo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. When Manuel Seguinus fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Higuerita FC's protests and gave Manuel Seguinus a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th match minute, Higuerita FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Seguinus to maneuver through the defense. Mauricio Santo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Tiburcio Galindo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Modesto Orlin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Tiburcio Galindo made a huge save. When Mauricio Santo came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Cerrito fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauricio Santo couldn't finish the play. In the 22nd minute Cerrito were awarded a corner. Mauricio Santo went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Mauricio Santo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tiburcio Galindo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauricio Santo in the 26th minute of play forced Higuerita FC's goalkeeper Tiburcio Galindo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute, Cerrito's Mauricio Santo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Tiburcio Galindo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauricio Santo in the 39th minute of the match. With a little luck, Higuerita FC's Tiburcio Galindo got control of the ball when Modesto Orlin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alberto Telesforo charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alberto Telesforo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 47 played minutes Cerrito got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Telesforo. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Erubiel Acosta to strike the kick off in the second half. Tiburcio Galindo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauricio Santo, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Higuerita FC's goal looked a bit too open when Modesto Orlin came free, but Tiburcio Galindo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauricio Santo in the 57th minute of play forced Higuerita FC's goalkeeper Tiburcio Galindo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Modesto Orlin in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tiburcio Galindo saved Higuerita FC from getting behind. Higuerita FC's Tiburcio Galindo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Modesto Orlin in the 61st minute of play. Tiburcio Galindo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauricio Santo in the 63rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Modesto Orlin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tiburcio Galindo was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Tiburcio Galindo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauricio Santo in the 70th minute of play. Tiburcio Galindo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mauricio Santo went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Cornelio Matai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicasio Liher having to interfere. 83 minutes into the game, Cerrito's Mauricio Santo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tiburcio Galindo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. After some careless play in the Higuerita FC defense, Mauricio Santo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tiburcio Galindo. The Higuerita FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tiburcio Galindo should have stopped the shot. In the 98th minute of the match Saul Errolan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tiburcio Galindo skillfully saved the ball. There was no doubt that Cerrito were the better team. Cerrito's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
