The audience was convinced that Orlando Oskarbi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maximiliano Silban was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Gaston Iraitz's late challenge caught a Cerrito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gaston Iraitz helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Velez Capo's Gaston Iraitz got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Gaston Iraitz got his second yellow card in the match during the 23rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 24th minute, Gaston Iraitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the match, Cerrito's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Oskarbi came free, but Maximiliano Silban reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Velez Capo's Emirhan Canel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Velez Capo from getting a goal against them. Maximiliano Silban showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Oskarbi in the 33rd minute of the match. Cerrito's Maximiliano Silban played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Sadurni in the 38th minute of play. With a little luck, Velez Capo's Emirhan Canel got control of the ball when Godfredo Raymon tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacobo Orlo during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 45th minute, Jacobo Orlo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Mario Sadurni blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maximiliano Silban having to make a save. With a little luck, Cerrito's Maximiliano Silban got control of the ball when Mario Sadurni tried to sneak it across the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Velez Capo's goal looked a bit too open when Teodosio Perutxo came free, but Emirhan Canel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodosio Perutxo in the 70th minute of play forced Velez Capo's goalkeeper Emirhan Canel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Tibo Kerstens made a precise shot to the right of Maximiliano Silban. Cerrito's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Emirhan Canel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godfredo Raymon in the 81st minute of play. Teodosio Perutxo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Velez Capo booed when Cerrito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pablo Omero didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute Velez Capo were awarded a corner. Orlando Oskarbi went to the cornerflag to take it. Orlando Oskarbi made a great header on Velez Capo's corner, it was just that Cerrito's Maximiliano Silban managed to reach the ball for a save. The Velez Capo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Velez Capo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
