Leonid Plaksin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaston Peter in the 8th minute of the match. If Gaston Peter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 9 minutes into the match, U21 Russia's goal looked a bit too open when Gaston Peter came free, but Leonid Plaksin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anton Kudrinskiy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Timoteo Lucero made a huge save. Gaston Peter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leonid Plaksin having to make a save. Leonid Plaksin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaston Peter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gaston Peter struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. In the 20th minute of the match Vladimir Basargin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Timoteo Lucero skillfully saved the ball. Leonid Plaksin came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Mexico's Gaston Peter. But to his dismay, Gaston Peter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Gaston Peter took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leonid Plaksin. Leonid Plaksin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, U21 Mexico's Isidro Gartzi got a free kick in the 28th minute. Yaroslav Vishnyakov might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Timoteo Lucero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yaroslav Vishnyakov ran back to his position shaking his head. 42 minutes into the match, Gaston Peter notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of U21 Russia's Leonid Plaksin. Leonid Plaksin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half U21 Mexico were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

U21 Mexico's Jacinto Eztebe was substituted for Jonatan Chayo. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gaston Peter to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, U21 Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emiliano Toribio to maneuver through the defense. Timoteo Lucero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Max Lunin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Mexico's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Max Lunin was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Russia's players had a chance to rest. Gaston Peter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Leonid Plaksin made a huge save. After a rather tough play, U21 Russia's Alexander Lunin got a free kick in the 61st minute. 65 minutes into the match, Gaston Peter dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Leonid Plaksin, 0-4. Leonid Plaksin came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Mexico's Gaston Peter. But to his dismay, Gaston Peter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. 77 minutes into the match, U21 Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Kudrinskiy came free, but Timoteo Lucero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of U21 Russia booed when U21 Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidro Gartzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Max Lunin in the 88th minute of play forced U21 Mexico's goalkeeper Timoteo Lucero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, U21 Mexico's Emiliano Toribio got a free kick in the 90th minute. Timoteo Lucero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anton Kudrinskiy in the 92nd minute of the match. U21 Mexico's Timoteo Lucero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anton Kudrinskiy in the 94th minute of play. U21 Mexico were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over U21 Russia's much stronger midfield.
