Here we go, men. The start of the Premier League season is days away.
I will be at Anfield for the early kick off; beer first half, bovril second half. Always. Probably play out a draw against Mark Hughes' free flowing Stoke outfit.
What are you fine gents saying about the ensung season then? Chelsea will win it says I. United, Citeh, Arsenal completing the top four. Spurs will lose Bale to Madrid shortly but still beat Liverpool to 5th in another forgetful season for us.
Cardiff, Hull and Palace straight back down I reckon. Though I would more so enjoy it if Villa, West Ham or Stoke were to in fact fall.
Hurrah. Football.

A rule designed to single out the richest clubs spending the most? Im sure how much they would be prepared to bribe never came into the creation of it.

Majority of fans joined in the 2012 season mostly there's a handful hundred and who probably live in Manchester who supported them the whole way long.

Yep, lots of bandwagoners.
They were the best team all season but after spending 500 million or whatever spent you would hope so.
Should be winning the Champions League too to be honest but nowhere near that.

Re: Premiership 2013/14

majority of fans didn't join in 2012. They don't have nearly as many bandwagoners as United and Liverpool. The CL will be there next season to win if Pellegrini doesn't play safe at home. A treble is in the making.

Real are the team to beat atm, anyone will be lucky to knock them off for the next couple of years, even harder if they sign Suarez from Liverpool, which would be suicide for the Reds. No amount of money should be enough to get him to leave atm, every successful team MUST have a player with real spark, and for Liverpool, hes that man. If he goes then they will struggle for Champs leagues next year as Spurs, Chelsea and Man Utd will be a much stronger force next season.

I'm sure there are many tossposts on Liverpool's bandwagon. Out of all the premier league clubs, we've the highest attendance for all competitions for the last 25 years. Blue Moon Rising, kid.

I'll break it down for the incompetent. City fans have attended more games in the past 25 years than any other premier league club. This includes all competitions.

No incompetence here, amigo. Your sentence didn't make any sense at all. Fortunately for the incompetent I got the jist of what you were trying to say.
With that in mind, I simply do not believe it. Relatively VERY few seasons of Champions League football (what is it 3?) and not including the Community Shield only 2 domestic cup trophies in that time, not to mention a relegation to the third tier of English football. Factoring in the fact Maine Road was restricted to to about 32,000 for 19 of those 25 years I cannot believe for one moment Manchester United have not had a far far greater attendance record over that time, as well as a few other teams.
Please provide a reference to substantiate your claim or I'm afraid you are talking bologna (to use a term you Americans are familiar with).

So wait, why would it be there if your statistic is "for all competitions". Why would the Premier League hold information about European competition or FA domestic competitions? Let me think...
...I have it! No such statistic exists and is absolute fabrication on your part. Thanks for clearing that up, buddy.

That has not answered my question at all. Why would they hold statistics on competitions outside of their control? Do UEFA tell you Jack Rodwell's total season passes on their website? Granted, it can be counted on a single hand but the answer is still no.
Joking aside, I have been on the website and it isn't there. Furthermore, my good pal Google cannot come up with the answer to back up your ascertain. Now he has never let me down before. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to call male cow faeces originating from your gob (to use a term you Americans are not familiar with) on this occasion.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Manchester_United_F.C._seasons
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Manchester_City_F.C._seasons
If we look there, you will notice City was not in the premier league (LOL) for a few seasons and hence played 8 more league matches for 5 seasons. However, they didn't make Europe 16 times whereas Manchester United have never failed to make Europe since the inception of the PL. That's 16 * at least 6 (for group stages of Europe) and in most of those, United played many more matches.
So using basic arithmetic... I can work out that Manchester United played a SHITLOAD more matches than City, add the fact that they had a bigger stadium for much of that time and the gap only widens.
What does all this mean? rockstarroberts is as we already knew, wrong and stupid.
Manufactured City are not a club. I commend them on their youth set up etc, but considering the results of this little experiment... they are still a stain on English football so far.

Guess City have been last in all of the few Champions League's they've been in. Pep has won 2, would you rather no titles or 2 titles?
United, Liverpool and Chelsea have all won the Champions League in the last 10 years. Where's City on that list?
Stats are wonderful aren't they?

The goals table was not about excuses, it was explaining how Man City are not supporting English football like you seem to think. They buy mercenaries which wins them titles (not Champions Leagues though LOL), but it doesn't make them a club, it makes them a toy for a rich Arab bloke. Go back and read the shit you write - if you truly believe any of that you probably need to go back and finish school.
That Palace game was irrelevant, 2 more points there would have achieved what? The table would have ended up exactly as it did.

Same Chelsea team that beat City twice. City used similar tactics to Liverpool (ie have the ball 70% of the time and try break down 10 defenders).
So you're admitting that City have done nothing for English football? But they might in the future?
Sounds a lot like their Champions League wins - never done it, but might if they keep breaking spending rules. All the other teams you claim are crap... United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern, Barca. All of those adhere to the rules in place too.
-
Re: Premiership 2013/14
By rockstarroberts - 14-05-2014 05:25
Liverpool spent 90 million just to finish top four. Except Chelsea played us straight up. We've produced plenty of Brits. Giggs, Sturridge and many others. Those rules are for bums. Life isn't fair and neither is FFP.
-
Re: Premiership 2013/14
By tosspot - 14-05-2014 06:34
lol, yep Sturridge is the last English player to graduate from City and play for England. He graduated 7 years ago.
Even their academy is full of foreigners - again... nothing for England.
Also, Giggs is a bit of a stretch... he wen to United at age 14.
Facts aren't your thing are they?
Starting lineups for the last day of the season cost:
City: 196mil
Liverpool: 106mil
Chelsea: 177mil + William Gallas
So less than 10mil per player vs ~18 and ~16 for City/Chelsea.
There are those facts again.
