Don Gamarra charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Don Gamarra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Koča Kafarov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Mexico's Gianluca Kán was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 95th minute Emre Çeliksu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gianluca Kán saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. U21 Turkey had won after a very even match.
