With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arif Cengiz Eryiğit in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kurts Miluks saved U21 Latvia from getting behind. Kurts Miluks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arif Cengiz Eryiğit, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Modris Bušs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the U21 Latvia defense, Arif Cengiz Eryiğit kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kurts Miluks. The U21 Latvia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kurts Miluks should have stopped the shot. Arif Cengiz Eryiğit might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kurts Miluks. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arif Cengiz Eryiğit ran back to his position shaking his head. After 58 minutes, Atabey Sara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Turkey and the U21 Latvia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 59 played minutes U21 Turkey got a freekick which was hit by Atabey Sara. 63 minutes into the match, Erhan Gombuš notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of U21 Latvia's Kurts Miluks. Kurts Miluks was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kurts Miluks made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erhan Gombuš in the 66th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erhan Gombuš got free with Kurts Miluks in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 72 played minutes U21 Latvia got a freekick which was hit by Modris Bušs. U21 Turkey's Baybora Ayvaz was substituted for Muhteşem Ulucay. U21 Latvia made a substitution. Kurts Miluks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mustafa Ali Acar, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute, one of U21 Latvia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for U21 Latvia. 87 minutes into the match, U21 Latvia's goalkeeper Kurts Miluks had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Diego Lugano. U21 Latvia's Kurts Miluks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baybora Ayvaz in the 92nd minute of play. The supporters of U21 Latvia booed when U21 Turkey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Atabey Sara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kurts Miluks was a little too slow when Baybora Ayvaz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 1-7. When the match was over U21 Turkey could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than U21 Latvia throughout the match.
