In the 13th minute Aipytos Karkampasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fortunato Baeza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, U21 Cyprus's Eumaios Economides got control of the ball when Tercero Pandal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tercero Pandal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fortunato Baeza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kolonos Stasinopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aipytos Karkampasis in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fortunato Baeza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of U21 Colombia booed when U21 Cyprus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aipytos Karkampasis didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner led U21 Colombia's Isidor Buzon to fire away a dangerous shot which Eumaios Economides despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kolonos Stasinopoulos in the 40th minute of play forced U21 Colombia's goalkeeper Fortunato Baeza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tercero Pandal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eumaios Economides having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tercero Pandal to strike the kick off in the second half. Kolonos Stasinopoulos did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Fortunato Baeza 60 minutes into the match. Eumaios Economides took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tercero Pandal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fortunato Baeza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kolonos Stasinopoulos in the 71st minute of play. If Aipytos Karkampasis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, U21 Cyprus's Aipytos Karkampasis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fortunato Baeza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 94th minute U21 Cyprus were awarded a corner. Kroios Nikolakopoulos went to the cornerflag to take it. U21 Colombia were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
