Kayserispor's Erkan Sadi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Kayserispor from getting a goal against them. In the 26th minute Sakut Deryace shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Ranolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sakut Deryace in the 34th minute of play forced Estudiantes de América's goalkeeper Marcos Ranolfo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Ranolfo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hong Zhan Bang in the 37th minute of the match. Concetto Trasatti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teobald Hodas got a throw-in 45 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Sakut Deryace. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teobald Hodas to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Estudiantes de América's Diego Simeone got a free kick in the 50th minute. Marcos Ranolfo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hong Zhan Bang in the 55th minute. Hong Zhan Bang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Marcos Ranolfo made a huge save. Erkan Sadi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilmar Marinho in the 84th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Sakut Deryace ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Ranolfo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 88th minute Teobald Hodas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Ranolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Estudiantes de América booed when Kayserispor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ahmet Emir Tankut didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Kayserispor's zone, Maximo Dei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erkan Sadi came out of the goal and Maximo Dei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Erkan Sadi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilmar Marinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
