Chauncey Holland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xiao Yun Jun in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Inter 1908 Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Charlie Blevins came free, but Chauncey Holland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xiao Yun Jun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chauncey Holland having to interfere. Gilberto Fremont took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Chauncey Holland. Chauncey Holland dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Charlie Blevins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Chauncey Holland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilberto Fremont hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. In the 21st match minute, Inter 1908 Milan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norberto Beckman to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Inter 1908 Milan booed when Fenerbahçe S.K. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cruz Lentz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fenerbahçe S.K.'s goalkeeper Hoyt Cormier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Gilberto Fremont had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Robin Welsh took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Hoyt Cormier to make any attempt to save it. Chauncey Holland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Fremont in the 36th minute of play. When Charlie Blevins came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Fenerbahçe S.K. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charlie Blevins couldn't finish the play. Chauncey Holland didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Charlie Blevins went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Chauncey Holland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xiao Yun Jun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Robin Welsh stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Inter 1908 Milan's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gilberto Fremont fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Chauncey Holland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Qiao Qi Bo in the 53rd minute of play. In the last second Chauncey Holland throw himself and got hold of the ball when Xiao Yun Jun in the 58thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 60th minute Fenerbahçe S.K. were awarded a corner. Vadim Izvoreanu went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Fenerbahçe S.K.'s corner Vadim Izvoreanu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Chauncey Holland quite easily take care of the ball. 61 minutes into the game, Qiao Qi Bo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fenerbahçe S.K.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inter 1908 Milan the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Fenerbahçe S.K.'s zone, Norberto Beckman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hoyt Cormier came out of the goal and Norberto Beckman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chauncey Holland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Qiao Qi Bo in the 64th minute of the match. Inter 1908 Milan's Chauncey Holland proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Inter 1908 Milan from getting a goal against them. Charlie Blevins received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Chauncey Holland came out and tried to block the shot, but Charlie Blevins slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 73rd minute. In the 77th minute, Narcisse Wang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 1-5 became the score in the 82nd minute when Xiao Yun Jun elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. A collision led to Inter 1908 Milan getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Jospeh Heller hit a great ball. Chauncey Holland was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gilberto Fremont showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-6 in the 85 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Inter 1908 Milan's Carrol Sparks got a free kick in the 89th minute. Inter 1908 Milan's Chauncey Holland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xiao Yun Jun in the 90th minute of play. Inter 1908 Milan's Norberto Beckman got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hoyt Cormier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robin Welsh, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Fenerbahçe S.K.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
