The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Mazinho de Alcântara put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Giovanni Monteiro. Languiru SC's Giovanni Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hortêncio Hoffmann in the 6th minute of play. Giovanni Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Váldson Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Váldson Melo in the 9th minute of play forced Languiru SC's goalkeeper Giovanni Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oséas Camargo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdo Fernandes's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Váldson Melo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Giovanni Monteiro having to make a save. With his leg Giovanni Monteiro managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Era's Mazinho de Alcântara fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Oséas Camargo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdo Fernandes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Era booed when Languiru SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Paulo de Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 17 in the game by Mazinho de Alcântara from a close distance when the talented Giovanni Monteiro managed to make a qualified save. Languiru SC's players were relieved. 26 minutes into the match, Mazinho de Alcântara notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Languiru SC's Giovanni Monteiro. Giovanni Monteiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Giovanni Monteiro acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 30th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Diego Neves. After 31st play minutes Mazinho de Alcântara shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Giovanni Monteiro and just under the crossbar into goal. Giovanni Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Váldson Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oséas Camargo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdo Fernandes's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Ivo Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Oséas Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Giovanni Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Váldson Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gabriel Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Era's Oséas Camargo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdo Fernandes in the 42nd minute of play. Giovanni Monteiro came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Era's Marquinhos Alagoano. But to his dismay, Marquinhos Alagoano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The wind increased when Valdo Fernandes made the kick off in the second half. Mazinho de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Giovanni Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Váldson Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute, Ivo Vale fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Giovanni Monteiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mazinho de Alcântara went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Giovanni Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mazinho de Alcântara in the 65th minute of the match. Era's Marquinhos Alagoano suffered a sore thigh after 65 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Luís Paulo de Almeida fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Languiru SC's protests and gave Luís Paulo de Almeida a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Languiru SC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Luís Paulo de Almeida hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the game, Era's Mazinho de Alcântara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Giovanni Monteiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Evandro Aguiar charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evandro Aguiar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Evandro Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Oséas Camargo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdo Fernandes's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. When Luís Paulo de Almeida came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Languiru SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Paulo de Almeida couldn't finish the play. With his leg Oséas Camargo managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Languiru SC's Valdo Fernandes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 77 minutes into the match, Languiru SC's goal looked a bit too open when Mazinho de Alcântara came free, but Giovanni Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ivo Vale struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Oséas Camargo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Languiru SC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Carioca in the 85th minute of play forced Languiru SC's goalkeeper Giovanni Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Languiru SC's Giovanni Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mazinho de Alcântara in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Mazinho de Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Luís Paulo de Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot. Languiru SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Paulo de Almeida was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oséas Camargo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luís Paulo de Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mazinho de Alcântara in the 93rd minute of play forced Languiru SC's goalkeeper Giovanni Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 96 minutes of play Languiru SC's Luís Paulo de Almeida was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 98 minutes into the match, Era's Ediberto Linares broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Languiru SC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Era.
