After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Kord Funkel managed to get in a good position for a shot. SV LeYuki 2007's supporters rose to their feet, but Kord Funkel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fritz Dorneth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fritz Dorneth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kord Funkel in the 19th minute of play. Gohfeld's Fritz Dorneth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernst Rosenhagen in the 23rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karim Adeyemi got free with Oskar Schneider in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Gohfeld booed when SV LeYuki 2007 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thierry Grath didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gohfeld's Fritz Dorneth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kord Funkel in the 31st minute of play. Oskar Schneider made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Karim Adeyemi sent off a good shot on target. In the 33rd minute, Gohfeld's Claas Küfner seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Claas Küfner the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Gohfeld protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Claas Küfner had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 32nd minute, one of Gohfeld:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gohfeld. In the 34th minute there was a penalty for SV LeYuki 2007. Ernst Rosenhagen stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fritz Dorneth. 0-2. Kord Funkel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Fritz Dorneth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raik Gabriel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raik Gabriel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ernst Rosenhagen might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fritz Dorneth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. After 62 minutes, Ocke Reimer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SV LeYuki 2007 and the Gohfeld players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 62nd match minute, SV LeYuki 2007 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ocke Reimer to maneuver through the defense.
