VM HOPVELDEN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franky Goolen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee felt a red card was in order, 44 minutes into the game, when Georges Schaerlaekens put in a rough tackle. Georges Schaerlaekens hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Washington Gorena was the one to do the kick off. Yelle Leenknecht's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Domingos Gonzo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, VM HOPVELDEN's Robert Pivniceru sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olliver De Maerschalckx narrowly saved just below the crossbar. VM HOPVELDEN's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
