Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jorre Van Den Eynden started the match with the kick off. After 6 minutes of play, VM HOPVELDEN's Jorre Van Den Eynden made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vicente Van Huruck was left in no man's land by his defense there! The throw-in from Robby De Cat in the 16th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Aalbeked's Ief Van dooren. Vicente Van Huruck didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jorre Van Den Eynden went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of VM HOPVELDEN booed when Aalbeked was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernst Van Eycke didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vicente Van Huruck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorre Van Den Eynden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 26 minutes into the game, Carl Ablij was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aalbeked's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave VM HOPVELDEN the free kick. A collision led to Aalbeked getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Carl Ablij hit a great ball. When Jorre Van Den Eynden came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the VM HOPVELDEN fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorre Van Den Eynden couldn't finish the play. Jorre Van Den Eynden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vicente Van Huruck came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by VM HOPVELDEN's Franky Goolen. But to his dismay, Franky Goolen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. VM HOPVELDEN's Franky Goolen got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

In the 51st minute Willy Goolen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingos Gonzo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hendrik Dierickx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Vicente Van Huruck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carl Ablij hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 57 minutes into the match, VM HOPVELDEN's Jan Baecke sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vicente Van Huruck narrowly saved just below the crossbar. VM HOPVELDEN's attentive Kenn Martin managed to snatch the ball when Ernst Van Eycke made a throw-in in the 64th minute of the game. Franky Goolen hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. When Jorre Van Den Eynden came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the VM HOPVELDEN fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorre Van Den Eynden couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Robert Pivniceru managed to get in a good position for a shot. VM HOPVELDEN's supporters rose to their feet, but Robert Pivniceru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vicente Van Huruck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jorre Van Den Eynden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th match minute, Aalbeked was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricky Uytdebroeck to maneuver through the defense.
