With a little luck, Sparkling Team's Christofere Van Meirhaeghe got control of the ball when Viktor Dejardin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Domingos Gonzo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hendrik-Jan Van Der Taelen in the 5th minute of the match. In the 11th match minute, Sparkling Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ritchie Wagemans to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Jan Baecke in the 12th minute really tested Christofere Van Meirhaeghe's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 13th minute Joerie Schamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingos Gonzo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute, Cedrik Berghmans left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sparkling Team fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 19 played minutes Sparkling Team got a freekick which was hit by Yelle Suetens. Jorre Van Den Eynden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Christofere Van Meirhaeghe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the game, Robert Pivniceru was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VM HOPVELDEN's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sparkling Team the free kick. The supporters of Sparkling Team booed when VM HOPVELDEN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert Pivniceru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Viktor Dejardin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by Jorre Van Den Eynden got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Robert Pivniceru might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christofere Van Meirhaeghe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robert Pivniceru ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorre Van Den Eynden got free with Christofere Van Meirhaeghe in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hendrik Dierickx hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cedrik Berghmans was the one to do the kick off. Christofere Van Meirhaeghe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorre Van Den Eynden in the 63rd minute of play. Hendrik Dierickx recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. VM HOPVELDEN's Robert Pivniceru got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 71 minutes, Robert Pivniceru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VM HOPVELDEN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Pivniceru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christofere Van Meirhaeghe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorre Van Den Eynden, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. With a little luck, VM HOPVELDEN's Domingos Gonzo got control of the ball when Mathieux De Weyngaert tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hendrik-Jan Van Der Taelen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Domingos Gonzo made a huge save. Jorre Van Den Eynden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Robert Pivniceru kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Hendrik Dierickx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Christofere Van Meirhaeghe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christofere Van Meirhaeghe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hendrik Dierickx, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Robert Pivniceru was shown his second yellow card after 95 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 96th minute, Robert Pivniceru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Domingos Gonzo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cedrik Berghmans in the 98th minute. VM HOPVELDEN were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Sparkling Team to leave the ground with a draw.
