After a defensive mix-up in PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's zone, Ernest Buculeasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valer Onișoru came out of the goal and Ernest Buculeasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Burdea hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mihai Lucrețiu during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 44th minute, one of Inter Sport Cluj-Napoca:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Inter Sport Cluj-Napoca. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
