An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Lum in the 17th minute of play forced Geadling's goalkeeper Ali Abdul to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Asiz Lim came out of the goal and Jonathan Kang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ali Abdul showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Lum in the 33rd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the game, Sarb Wenyong was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Geadling's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Abbay Wood United the free kick. Geadling's Jonathan Kang got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st minute Jonathan Kang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Asiz Lim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After 53 played minutes, Geadling's Sharizan Ching shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Asiz Lim came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Geadling reached it. When Haziq Cheng fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Abbay Wood United's protests and gave Haziq Cheng a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Abbay Wood United getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Haziq Cheng hit a great ball. Asiz Lim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arif Laycock in the 57th minute of the match. Asiz Lim stood somewhat misplaced when Jonathan Kang came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 61 minute. Jonathan Kang's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Asiz Lim skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Geadling's goalkeeper Ali Abdul, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Abbay Wood United fans cheered their team off the field, for while Geadling had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
