In the 10thth minute of the game Faris Lee who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Abbay Wood United's Asiz Lim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Faris Lee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abbay Wood United's Asiz Lim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Abbay Wood United from getting a goal against them. Abbay Wood United's Asiz Lim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Firdauz Dyce in the 17th minute of play. A collision led to Abbay Wood United getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Mujahid Nagasaki hit a great ball. Asiz Lim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albert Yi-Sheng, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Faris Lee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lamar Choy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Butcher having to interfere. After 37 minutes, Jerry Kang mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Waterfoot and the Abbay Wood United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lamar Choy blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Albert Butcher having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Waterfoot's Jerry Kang got a free kick in the 41st minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Faris Lee made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Lamar Choy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abbay Wood United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lamar Choy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abbay Wood United's Asiz Lim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Khairil Vijiaratnam in the 55th minute of play. Lamar Choy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Lamar Choy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abbay Wood United's supporters rose to their feet, but Lamar Choy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albert Butcher breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lamar Choy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the match, Waterfoot's Faris Lee sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Asiz Lim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 76th minute, Faris Lee got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 77th minute Faris Lee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Asiz Lim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 82 minutes, Albert Butcher successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jerry Kang was shown his second yellow card after 82 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Jerry Kang kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Ronn Lim struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Albert Butcher didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abbay Wood United. 95 minutes into the match, Ronn Lim notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Waterfoot's Albert Butcher. Albert Butcher was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Abbay Wood United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Abbay Wood United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
