Aaron Jameson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciriaco Hernando having to interfere. Ciriaco Hernando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barram Duggan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barram Duggan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Ciriaco Hernando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aaron Jameson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciriaco Hernando having to interfere. Ciriaco Hernando didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Corey Keegan went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Corey Keegan in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ciriaco Hernando prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Corey Keegan sped through U21 Mexico's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ciriaco Hernando. Ciriaco Hernando showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Corey Keegan in the 35th minute of the match. Corey Keegan kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. When Benicio Bernat fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Mexico's protests and gave Benicio Bernat a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, U21 Mexico's Benicio Bernat got a free kick in the 46th minute. Santos Lorenz's late challenge caught a U21 Ireland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santos Lorenz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th minute, Santos Lorenz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donal McFrank, 48 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.

54 minutes into the match, U21 Ireland's Barram Duggan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ciriaco Hernando narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bowie Dillon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Ciriaco Hernando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Severo Balendin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Norberto Frans hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Corey Keegan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. U21 Mexico's Ciriaco Hernando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barram Duggan in the 90th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, U21 Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Barram Duggan came free, but Ciriaco Hernando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ciriaco Hernando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bowie Dillon in the 93rd minute of play. After 95 minutes U21 Mexico's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Donal McFrank who took care of the corner kick.
