Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Robert Billington made the kick off which started today's match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shaine Gordon in the 6th minute of play forced Lugano Futbol's goalkeeper Ruud Wollans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Billie Jean King Spirit's zone, Zacarias Pere stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mark Webster came out of the goal and Zacarias Pere tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Luciano Alvarez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lugano Futbol's supporters rose to their feet, but Luciano Alvarez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mark Webster breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mark Webster made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Luciano Alvarez sent off a good shot on target. Mark Webster was a little too slow when Luciano Alvarez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 1-0. After having played for 26 minutes, Alonzo Estefan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lugano Futbol's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alonzo Estefan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serafin Bautista was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 31 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, one of Lugano Futbol:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lugano Futbol. After 33 minutes Lugano Futbol's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Robert Billington who took care of the corner kick. A very nice done corner allowed Shaine Gordon to score against Ruud Wollans in Lugano Futbol's goal. 1-1 after 33 minutes. Ruud Wollans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Billington in the 39th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luciano Alvarez to make the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Lugano Futbol's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Billington came free, but Ruud Wollans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Billie Jean King Spirit's Mark Webster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloy Herauso in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Alvarez in the 66th minute of play forced Billie Jean King Spirit's goalkeeper Mark Webster to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Shaine Gordon fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Billie Jean King Spirit's protests and gave Shaine Gordon a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th minute, Shaine Gordon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Billie Jean King Spirit's Michael Rea got a free kick in the 76th minute. If Eloy Herauso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the match, Zacarias Pere had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mark Webster. Billie Jean King Spirit's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zacarias Pere was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Ruud Wollans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robert Billington in the 91st minute. Billie Jean King Spirit's Mark Webster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloy Herauso in the 97th minute of play.
