The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 9 minutes into the match, Billie Jean King Spirit's goal looked a bit too open when Louis Vischkens came free, but Mark Webster reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 10 played minutes Café DE PLOEG got a freekick which was hit by Philip Van Den Eijnde. 30 minutes into the match, Robert Billington had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Erwin Reuters. Café DE PLOEG's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robert Billington was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Erwin Reuters made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Billington in the 34th minute of play. Erwin Reuters showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shaine Gordon in the 37th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Café DE PLOEG's Robbin De Ruyter got a free kick in the 38th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Karel-Jan De Keijsere was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Café DE PLOEG's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Billie Jean King Spirit the free kick. Karel-Jan De Keijsere hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute, Shaine Gordon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

A collision led to Billie Jean King Spirit getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Andrew James hit a great ball. Mark Webster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Louis Vischkens in the 61st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Glen Coremans got free with Mark Webster in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Erwin Reuters took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timothy McDonald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Louis Vischkens kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mark Webster. That made the score 2-1 in the 66 minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Billie Jean King Spirit's goalkeeper Mark Webster had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Glen Coremans. Billie Jean King Spirit's Robert Billington got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Shaine Gordon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erwin Reuters having to interfere. In the 80th match minute, Billie Jean King Spirit was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevin Harrison to maneuver through the defense. Mark Webster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from William Van de Loock in the 83rd minute of the match. Andrew Brooks's late challenge caught a Café DE PLOEG's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andrew Brooks helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Billie Jean King Spirit's Andrew Brooks got a free kick in the 85th minute. If Glen Coremans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. William Van de Loock's late challenge caught a Billie Jean King Spirit's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. William Van de Loock helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Billie Jean King Spirit booed when Café DE PLOEG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. William Van de Loock didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andrew Brooks might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erwin Reuters. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andrew Brooks ran back to his position shaking his head. Tibaut Kuppens was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 97 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 97th minute of the game. One of Café DE PLOEG:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Billie Jean King Spirit:s goal. Erwin Reuters had in the 99thth minute some difficulties stopping Robert Billington's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Billie Jean King Spirit's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
