But to his dismay, Petter Hökqvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by J.P. Kapar in the 43rd minute of play forced U21 Sweden's goalkeeper Stellan Drake to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. J.P. Kapar struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Stellan Drake didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 France. The audience was convinced that Tobías Gunnarsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stellan Drake was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.
With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tobías Gunnarsson in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stellan Drake saved U21 Sweden from getting behind. In the 92nd minute of the game, Rick Grimes landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. The supporters of U21 France booed when U21 Sweden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nils-Emil Bergren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stellan Drake made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from J.P. Kapar in the 94th minute of play. Stellan Drake didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from J.P. Kapar went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-4 was the resulting score.
