David Beauchamps received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Onesime Hyatt came out and tried to block the shot, but David Beauchamps slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 27th minute. The throw-in from Truman Quintana in the 30th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Plunkett's Mino Colombres. When Quinn Lemaître fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Plunkett's protests and gave Quinn Lemaître a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Plunkett's Quinn Lemaître got a free kick in the 31st minute. 35 minutes into the match, Plunkett's goalkeeper Onesime Hyatt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Beauchamps. GALATASARAY SK's Amado Massé suffered a sore foot after 35 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Frédéric McCarty fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Plunkett's protests and gave Frédéric McCarty a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th minute, Frédéric McCarty hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Javier Hachée made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Connie Lapierre in the 52nd minute of play forced Plunkett's goalkeeper Onesime Hyatt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 59 played minutes GALATASARAY SK got a freekick which was hit by Connie Lapierre. In the 65th minute, Frédéric McCarty hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roberto Carney made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kurt Bourdette in the 70th minute. Onesime Hyatt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dominique Brousse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in GALATASARAY SK's zone, Kurt Bourdette stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roberto Carney came out of the goal and Kurt Bourdette tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Onesime Hyatt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Beauchamps in the 82nd minute of play. Frédéric McCarty hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. GALATASARAY SK's Roberto Carney proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save GALATASARAY SK from getting a goal against them. Plunkett's Onesime Hyatt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Beauchamps in the 88th minute of play. Kurt Bourdette could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Roberto Carney made a huge save. Kurt Bourdette struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Roberto Carney didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Plunkett. There was no doubt that GALATASARAY SK were the better team. GALATASARAY SK's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
