Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Michael Ross started the match with the kick off. Aurèle Chen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Ross, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Cornelius Cahill might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aurèle Chen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cornelius Cahill ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Michael Ross in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aurèle Chen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 8 minutes, Frédéric McCarty mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Plunkett and the Mortlach players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8th match minute, Plunkett was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frédéric McCarty to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael Ross in the 13th minute of play forced Mortlach's goalkeeper Aurèle Chen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Delmer Roberson struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Onesime Hyatt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mortlach. Cornelius Cahill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurèle Chen having to interfere. After 21 played minutes Mortlach got a freekick which was hit by Chad Proulx. 28 minutes into the match, Michael Ross dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aurèle Chen, 1-0. With a little luck, Mortlach's Aurèle Chen got control of the ball when Cornelius Cahill tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Donnell Mayfield hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes into the match, Plunkett's Bradford McGee broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a rather tough play, Mortlach's Marcos Faust got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 38thth minute of the game Cornelius Cahill who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mortlach's Aurèle Chen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cornelius Cahill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurèle Chen having to interfere. Michael Ross received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Aurèle Chen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the last second Aurèle Chen throw himself and got hold of the ball when Zack Fagan in the 46thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Donnell Mayfield to make the kick off. Quinn Lemaître's late challenge caught a Mortlach's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Quinn Lemaître helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st match minute, Plunkett was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Quinn Lemaître to maneuver through the defense. In the 53rd minute, Michael Ross left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Plunkett fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Frédéric McCarty was shown his second yellow card after 56 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Mortlach's goalkeeper Aurèle Chen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Mortlach's Delmer Roberson got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Cornelius Cahill recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Lionel Hatcher came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Plunkett fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lionel Hatcher couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Michael Ross managed to get in a good position for a shot. Plunkett's supporters rose to their feet, but Michael Ross was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aurèle Chen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 70 minutes into the match, Cornelius Cahill notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Mortlach's Aurèle Chen. Aurèle Chen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Michael Ross struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. In the 78th minute, Cornelius Cahill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aurèle Chen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cornelius Cahill, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Cornelius Cahill put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Aurèle Chen. 92 minutes into the match, Plunkett's Cornelius Cahill sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aurèle Chen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Plunkett's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
