Wilian Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hortêncio Neiva having to interfere. Rafinha Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Nuno Pinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hortêncio Neiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto de Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of São Vicente FC booed when Gargau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sílvio Luiz Gaúcho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilian Perez might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hortêncio Neiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilian Perez ran back to his position shaking his head. Hortêncio Neiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilian Perez in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th minute, Wilian Perez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edinho Godoi charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edinho Godoi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 28th minute, Edinho Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute, Cláudio Cardozo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Gargau's Hortêncio Neiva didn't even have to move. Gargau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erik Godoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Augusto de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Hortêncio Neiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Augusto de Barros was the one to do the kick off. Hortêncio Neiva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilian Perez in the 58th minute. Erik Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Rafinha Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gargau's Hortêncio Neiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Gargau from getting a goal against them. In the 65thth minute of the game Erik Godoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but São Vicente FC's Rafinha Madureira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rafinha Madureira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo de Castro in the 70th minute of the match. In the 78th minute, Erik Godoi made a precise shot to the right of Rafinha Madureira. São Vicente FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. A collision led to Gargau getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Sílvio Luiz Gaúcho hit a great ball. In the 87thth minute of the game Augusto de Barros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gargau's Hortêncio Neiva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Wilian Perez managed to get in a good position for a shot. São Vicente FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilian Perez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hortêncio Neiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Augusto de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Gargau's Hortêncio Neiva got control of the ball when Wilian Perez tried to sneak it across the goal line. São Vicente FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
