Spectators: 7203 (Terracing: 5404, Seating: 1656, VIP seats: 143) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Erik Godoi kicked off to start the match. When Nuno Pinho came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Gargau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Pinho couldn't finish the play. Isaltino Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 7th minute, Hortêncio Bezerra sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Pompeiro's Joélson Saldanha didn't even have to move. After a rather tough play, Pompeiro's Betão Vieira got a free kick in the 8th minute. After having played for 12 minutes, Wágner de Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pompeiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wágner de Lima was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Pompeiro's zone, Nuno Pinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joélson Saldanha came out of the goal and Nuno Pinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wágner de Lima blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hortêncio Neiva having to make a save. In the 24th minute Cauã Araújo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hortêncio Neiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 25 minutes, Reynaldo de Castro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gargau and the Pompeiro players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cauã Araújo in the 26th minute of play forced Gargau's goalkeeper Hortêncio Neiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Erik Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the match, Pompeiro's goal looked a bit too open when Erik Godoi came free, but Joélson Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Godoi in the 40th minute of play forced Pompeiro's goalkeeper Joélson Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Joélson Saldanha managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when Gargau's Nuno Pinho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Joélson Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Godoi in the 43rd minute of play. Nuno Pinho came free with the goalkeeper in the 46th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Joélson Saldanha could save by the left post. Nuno Pinho was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 48th minute. Gargau's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Cauã Araújo made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cauã Araújo in the 56th minute of play forced Gargau's goalkeeper Hortêncio Neiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pompeiro's Joélson Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Pinho in the 59th minute of play. Betão Vieira was shown his second yellow card after 60 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Pompeiro's Betão Vieira got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 65th minute, Erik Godoi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Gargau's Nuno Pinho in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pompeiro's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the Pompeiro defense, Erik Godoi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joélson Saldanha. The Pompeiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joélson Saldanha should have stopped the shot. Erik Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Joélson Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Pompeiro's João Adolfo Aguiar got a free kick in the 86th minute. Nuno Pinho struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Joélson Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gargau. With his leg Hortêncio Neiva managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when Pompeiro's Isaltino Nascimento fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Gargau were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Pompeiro for a fine match.
