With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nikolay Zanin in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jojo Mulia saved U21 Malaysia from getting behind. U21 Russia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Max Lunin in the 5th minute. A nice corner shot did that Vladimir Basargin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jojo Mulia quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 10 minutes into the game, U21 Russia's Yaroslav Vishnyakov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jojo Mulia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nikolay Zanin in the 16th minute of play forced U21 Malaysia's goalkeeper Jojo Mulia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Amri Yahya managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Malaysia's supporters rose to their feet, but Amri Yahya was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonid Plaksin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jojo Mulia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yaroslav Vishnyakov, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. U21 Malaysia's Jojo Mulia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anton Kudrinskiy in the 47th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elie Idris made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Haikal Sugendo during the 51st minute. The audience was convinced that Martin Chaniago's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonid Plaksin was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Innocent Person took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leonid Plaksin. Leonid Plaksin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Jojo Mulia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serafim Hanok in the 90th minute of play. Nikolay Zanin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jojo Mulia was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Yaroslav Vishnyakov showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-5 in the 94 minute of play. The U21 Malaysia fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. U21 Russia were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
