After 8 minutes, Tilemachos Pergaminos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Greece and the U21 Cyprus players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tilemachos Pergaminos hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Eutichios Papadamoulis in the 11thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Aglauros Kavallieratos, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to U21 Greece getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Adamantios Fragakos hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, U21 Greece's Eutichios Papadamoulis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aglauros Kavallieratos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 15th play minute Eutichios Papadamoulis came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Aglauros Kavallieratos. 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Inakhos Petropoulos to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Haakon Gaafar got free with Paris Gontzos in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Inakhos Petropoulos in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paris Gontzos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 52 minutes, Inakhos Petropoulos made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. U21 Greece's Paris Gontzos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. U21 Greece's Paris Gontzos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inakhos Petropoulos in the 86th minute of play. Aglauros Kavallieratos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romelu Haaland in the 87th minute of play. After 89 minutes of play, U21 Greece's Romelu Haaland made it 7-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aglauros Kavallieratos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Romelu Haaland blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aglauros Kavallieratos having to make a save. Aglauros Kavallieratos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romelu Haaland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute, Romelu Haaland left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Greece fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-1.
