Spectators: 10300 (Terracing: 7725, Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) U21 Latvia's Martins Luters played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viteri Mancobo in the 8th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Viteri Mancobo put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Martins Luters. 24 minutes into the match, U21 Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Voldemārs Ramanis came free, but Washington Zucunza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Latvia's Martins Luters proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Latvia from getting a goal against them. Viteri Mancobo kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, U21 Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Valdis Pumpiss came free, but Washington Zucunza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Martins Luters managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when U21 Ecuador's Viteri Mancobo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Viteri Mancobo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Washington Zucunza came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Latvia's Voldemārs Ramanis. But to his dismay, Voldemārs Ramanis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Viteri Mancobo to strike the kick off in the second half. When Viteri Mancobo came up free with the goalie in the 50th minute, the U21 Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Viteri Mancobo couldn't finish the play. Druvis Batars charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Druvis Batars the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Viteri Mancobo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Martins Luters having to make a save. In the 66th minute, Viteri Mancobo made a precise shot to the right of Martins Luters. U21 Latvia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. U21 Latvia made a substitution. Harijs Traps replaced Druvis Batars. Martins Luters showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Esteban Cáceres in the 71st minute of the match. Martins Luters showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viteri Mancobo, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 73rd match minute, U21 Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Segundo Mayo to maneuver through the defense. When Viteri Mancobo came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the U21 Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Viteri Mancobo couldn't finish the play. U21 Ecuador's Alejandro Alava was substituted for Viteri Mancobo. U21 Ecuador's Navarro Rajo was substituted for Esteban Cáceres. In the 82nd minute, Gaidis Podziņš hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Segundo Mayo kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. U21 Latvia's Voldemārs Ramanis got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Washington Zucunza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agris Devējs, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Alejandro Alava's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martins Luters read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agris Devējs got free with Washington Zucunza in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The U21 Ecuador support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
