Ireland in the WC for the first time in history.

We are in!!!!!!!!! For the very first time in history, Ireland could qualify to group stages and will play the U21 World Cup 2014. Although we have only a bit more than half a dozen active teams, we've been doing a good job with youths and as a reward we've got the right to play the best tournament in the category. Well done lads!!!We are in!!!!!!!!!

Tbh surprised Ireland has never made it before. This season is the first time all NTs able to qualify must have a National Coach. The qualifying groups before this season norm had 1/2 active teams only. The questions should be .... What has Ireland done for the last 40 seasons to have not made it to a u21 World Cup :) I'm not criticizing just asking a good old valid question. Last year we've drawn alongside Russia, Austria and Belarus and only two first qualified which was obviously Russia and Austria. I think the main reason was lack of commitment, players poorly trained and no interest at this sport. The NC before me was suspended so Ireland had 4 players in U21. Managers didn't know how important power is so by the time I took the role, there was loads of youths with 7 in puck control, 4, 5 and 6 in power.. loads of pucks in passing.. terrible!! Now we have much better managers, the league quality has been improving and the youths as well so now I think apart from Top 10 countries, our team are in the same level of the others and probably in three, four season the senior team will be strong as well.Last year we've drawn alongside Russia, Austria and Belarus and only two first qualified which was obviously Russia and Austria.

Nice one bud. That is where Scotland is right now. However, we have 7 active managers again lots of them have youths. And from what I can see we are developing well. Just saw the WC group. We will play Romania, Lithuania and Portugal. Tough but could be worst like Germany, Spain, Bulgaria and Italy in group 2 heheJust saw the WC group.
