U21 Peru were awarded a corner in the 6th minute after U21 Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Juan Manuel Vargas took the corner. Julian Vuelta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Xacintu in the 11th minute of the match. Julian Vuelta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cuauhtémoc Tláskal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute, Cuauhtémoc Tláskal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julian Vuelta was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 27th minute, Omero Torrent hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute Cuauhtémoc Tláskal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julian Vuelta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute Eneto Moraza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Cesaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th match minute, U21 Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Héctor Chumpitaz to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute of the match U21 Mexico got a corner. U21 Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pedrão Fleming ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Pedrão Fleming got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julian Vuelta quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eneto Moraza in the 40th minute of play forced U21 Mexico's goalkeeper Camilo Cesaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Cuauhtémoc Tláskal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute, Obeko Estancion hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 55th minute, Juan Cerecedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Obeko Estancion kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. U21 Mexico's M. Andik Motowski was substituted for Daavid Ibrahimović. Cláudio Suárez made in the 70th minute of the game a quick throw-in and M. Andik Motowski immediately put the ball in play. If Wilfredo Xacintu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, U21 Mexico's Samuel Urbes got a free kick in the 81st minute. U21 Peru made a substitution. Xicu Mariña replaced Ricart Huergo. Juan Manuel Vargas, 84 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 85 minutes into the match, U21 Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Baumer Palomar came free, but Camilo Cesaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Baumer Palomar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Cesaro having to interfere. U21 Peru's Pedro Fasgar was substituted for Obeko Estancion. The supporters of U21 Peru booed when U21 Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Urbes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the match, U21 Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Cuauhtémoc Tláskal came free, but Julian Vuelta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
