The audience thought a goal was coming when Dušan Tadić got free with Florentino Toro in the 2nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 4th minute, Rogelio Chepe left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 7 minutes of play, U21 Serbia's Junior Shevchenko made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Florentino Toro was left in no man's land by his defense there! U21 Mexico's defense didn't have a chance, in the 9th minute, when Dušan Tadić scored to the left of an out of position Florentino Toro, making the score, 2-1. Dušan Tadić received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Florentino Toro came out and tried to block the shot, but Dušan Tadić slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 14th minute. Florentino Toro came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Serbia's Big Ben. But to his dismay, Big Ben quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Florentino Toro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Junior Shevchenko in the 20th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, U21 Mexico's goalkeeper Florentino Toro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nemanja Vidić. Nereo Lorenz kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Florentino Toro made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Dušan Tadić sent off a good shot on target. Celedonio Hermelando recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dušan Tadić did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 5-1 to the left of a surprised Florentino Toro 35 minutes into the match. Florentino Toro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Big Ben in the 38th minute of the match. U21 Mexico's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Junior Shevchenko 40 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 6-1. After some careless play in the U21 Mexico defense, Big Ben kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Florentino Toro. The U21 Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Florentino Toro should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nemanja Vidić during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nemanja Vidić kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Celedonio Hermelando struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Jevtimije Gagić didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Mexico. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Junior Shevchenko stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Dušan Tadić cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-1. Florentino Toro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Big Ben received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Florentino Toro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 56 minutes into the match, Big Ben had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Florentino Toro. U21 Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Big Ben was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-1. Jevtimije Gagić was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and Osvaldo Urbasa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Osvaldo Urbasa really showed his touch with that goal: 9-2. In the 64th minute Celedonio Hermelando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jevtimije Gagić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Mexico's Florentino Toro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Junior Shevchenko in the 66th minute of play. Florentino Toro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dušan Tadić in the 68th minute of the match. The U21 Serbia fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when U21 Serbia's Big Ben looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 10-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. U21 Serbia made a substitution. Jovan Stanojević replaced Marko Kirkov. Florentino Toro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dušan Tadić in the 78th minute of the match. U21 Serbia's Jebo Kara got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 87th minute Big Ben shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Toro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 88 minutes, Dušan Tadić managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Serbia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dušan Tadić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nemanja Vidić in the 89th minute of play forced U21 Mexico's goalkeeper Florentino Toro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U21 Serbia were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after U21 Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nemanja Vidić took the corner. Big Ben was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Big Ben received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Florentino Toro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nemanja Vidić scored 12-2 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Florentino Toro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. U21 Serbia walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
