Timoteo Lucero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jerzy Niedbalski's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. If Adam Nigbor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Timoteo Lucero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerzy Niedbalski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute U21 Poland were awarded a corner. Wincent Awizo went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on U21 Poland's corner Wincent Awizo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Timoteo Lucero quite easily take care of the ball. When Jerzy Niedbalski, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 31 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Timoteo Lucero was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After 32 minutes, Black Kon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Poland and the U21 Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to U21 Poland getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Black Kon hit a great ball. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Mexico's goalkeeper Timoteo Lucero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, U21 Poland's goal looked a bit too open when Jonatan Chayo came free, but Przemyslaw Szczęsny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute Jerzy Niedbalski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timoteo Lucero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Jerzy Niedbalski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Timoteo Lucero. U21 Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jerzy Niedbalski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After 45 played minutes U21 Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Jonatan Chayo. Timoteo Lucero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adam Nigbor's shot from short distance in the 47th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jerzy Niedbalski to make the kick off. Jerzy Niedbalski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Timoteo Lucero having to make a save. Timoteo Lucero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerzy Niedbalski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes into the match, U21 Poland's Jerzy Niedbalski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Timoteo Lucero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jerzy Niedbalski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Timoteo Lucero having to make a save. Timoteo Lucero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerzy Niedbalski in the 55th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jerzy Niedbalski in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Timoteo Lucero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jerzy Niedbalski scored 1-3 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Timoteo Lucero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. U21 Mexico's Timoteo Lucero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerzy Niedbalski in the 61st minute of play. If Jerzy Niedbalski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 64th minute, Jerzy Niedbalski made a precise shot to the right of Timoteo Lucero. U21 Mexico's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. U21 Poland's Ksawery Bilicki was substituted for Jerzy Niedbalski. U21 Poland's Gustaw Rydzyk was substituted for Francesc Totti. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ksawery Bilicki in the 69th minute of play forced U21 Mexico's goalkeeper Timoteo Lucero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the game, Jimeno Feliz threw the ball into play from the sideline. U21 Poland's Fabian Tomaszewski quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. U21 Poland's Przemyslaw Szczęsny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Eztebe in the 74th minute of play. Timoteo Lucero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Poland. 94 minutes into the match, U21 Poland's Ksawery Bilicki sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Timoteo Lucero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Ksawery Bilicki ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Timoteo Lucero was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. The U21 Poland supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing U21 Poland would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
