Ronni Riffers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augeias Roussos in the 21st minute of the match. After having played for 27 minutes, Folmar Søder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Denmark's supporters crossed their fingers, but Folmar Søder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Myrtilos Asikis could shoot a difficult shot in the 29th minute, which Ronni Riffers however easily saved by the left post. Folmar Søder's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iakobos Liachames read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, U21 Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Augeias Roussos came free, but Ronni Riffers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Myrtilos Asikis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronni Riffers was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Folmar Søder kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Myrtilos Asikiss short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Ronni Riffers to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 39th minute, Folmar Søder got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half U21 Denmark were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Koronis Tsangaris to strike the kick off in the second half. When Karsten Wilkens came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the U21 Denmark fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karsten Wilkens couldn't finish the play. Ronni Riffers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Koronis Tsangaris, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Karsten Wilkens struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Iakobos Liachames didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Denmark. In the 62nd minute, Wictor Ronstrøm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Karsten Wilkens came free with the goalkeeper in the 66th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Iakobos Liachames could save by the left post. When U21 Denmark's Sofus Stoffersen in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Koronis Tsangaris in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronni Riffers saved U21 Denmark from getting behind. Wictor Ronstrøm was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 94 minutes into the match. U21 Denmark:s Ronni Riffers showed great skill when he stopped Koronis Tsangaris:s penalty. Sofus Stoffersen struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Iakobos Liachames didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Denmark. The supporters of U21 Cyprus booed when U21 Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregorius Storvad didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, U21 Cyprus's Palaimon Lalagos tried to score from far away in the 99th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.
