Reynaldo Lluques stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of 龙骋傲's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. U21 Mexico's Reynaldo Lluques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 张昂卫 in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, U21 Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when 龙骋傲 came free, but Reynaldo Lluques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led to U21 Mexico's Elvio Lon getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 0-2 became the score in the 40th minute when 龙骋傲 elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 46 minutes of play, U21 China's 张昂卫 made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reynaldo Lluques was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half U21 China were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 龙骋傲 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Reynaldo Lluques made an important save on a dangerous shot by 张昂卫 in the 52nd minute. Reynaldo Lluques was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but 龙骋傲 showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 54 minute of play. Lin Cheng Yi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Berbiz in the 72nd minute of the match. The player immediately received a yellow card.
