Spectators: 10305 (Terracing: 7729, Seating: 2370, VIP seats: 206) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Iason Mavromattes kicked off to start the match. The U21 Canada fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when U21 Canada's Aimé Davenport looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a little luck, U21 Cyprus's Timos Valkanas got control of the ball when Adrien Cochran tried to sneak it across the goal line. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Cyprus's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ezekiel Addison was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Canada's players had a chance to rest. U21 Canada's Ezekiel Addison was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Timos Valkanas in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Timos Valkanas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrien Cochran in the 24th minute of play. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Cyprus's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ezekiel Addison was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Canada's players had a chance to rest. Haimon Karnoupakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Clayton Murdock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stergios Plevritis's late challenge caught a U21 Canada's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stergios Plevritis helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, U21 Cyprus's Stergios Plevritis got a free kick in the 39th minute. Takis Katsambis hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aimé Davenport to make the kick off. Iason Mavromattes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clayton Murdock having to interfere. After 55 minutes of play, U21 Canada's Aimé Davenport made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Timos Valkanas was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 59th play minutes Colin Caballero shot 6-0, a short shot which went by Timos Valkanas and just under the crossbar into goal. Aimé Davenport received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Timos Valkanas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. U21 Canada's Rolland Crosby was substituted for Branden Moon. Rolland Crosby blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Timos Valkanas having to make a save. Haimon Karnoupakis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. U21 Canada's Clayton Murdock proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Canada from getting a goal against them. Timos Valkanas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leandro Doss went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. Adrien Cochran hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 89 minutes into the game, when Sang Thibault put in a rough tackle. 88 minutes into the game, one of U21 Canada:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The supporters of U21 Canada booed when U21 Cyprus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Takis Katsambis didn't get a good kick on the ball. U21 Canada's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
