U21 Lithuania's Albertas Čivinskas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filomeno Bordat in the 8th minute of play. In the 12th minute, U21 Lithuania's Dominykas Krištopaitis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gregorio Soto. Gregorio Soto yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Gregorio Soto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dominykas Krištopaitis in the 16th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the game, Nereo Eutor was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Mexico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Lithuania the free kick. In the 17th minute, Nereo Eutor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gregorio Soto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilis Kardašius in the 19th minute of the match. If Filomeno Bordat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Silverio Hunfredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Albertas Čivinskas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. U21 Mexico's Gregorio Soto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Mexico from getting a goal against them. 40 minutes into the match, U21 Mexico's goalkeeper Gregorio Soto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Skirmantas Domarkas. After a rather tough play, U21 Mexico's Nereo Eutor got a free kick in the 41st minute. Albertas Čivinskas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silverio Hunfredo in the 44th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Skirmantas Domarkas made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th match minute, U21 Lithuania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrikas Gasparavičius to maneuver through the defense. U21 Mexico's Salvador Domiku was substituted for Freddy Seber. U21 Mexico made a substitution. Baldomiro Naldo replaced Silverio Hunfredo. In the 58th match minute, U21 Lithuania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrikas Gasparavičius to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, U21 Lithuania's Albertas Čivinskas got control of the ball when Salvador Domiku tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gregorio Soto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of U21 Mexico booed when U21 Lithuania was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdas Ivanauskas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the U21 Mexico defense, Gytis Tamkus kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gregorio Soto. The U21 Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gregorio Soto should have stopped the shot. Baldomiro Naldos short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Albertas Čivinskas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Albertas Čivinskas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomiro Naldo in the 95th minute of play. U21 Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
