Seating: 236, VIP seats: 20) U21 Scotland's George Moore started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Larry Lecky showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentine Pereceira in the 2nd minute of the match. In the 4th minute U21 Ecuador were awarded a corner. Samaniego Nieva went to the cornerflag to take it. Samaniego Nieva made a great header on U21 Ecuador's corner, it was just that U21 Scotland's Larry Lecky managed to reach the ball for a save. Larry Lecky didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Calle Callon went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Larry Lecky took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentine Pereceira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Valentine Pereceira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Bradley Forester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. U21 Ecuador's attentive Jácome Eraña managed to snatch the ball when Evan Oliver made a throw-in in the 25th minute of the game. U21 Scotland's Larry Lecky proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Scotland from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Calle Callon kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Larry Lecky. That made the score 3-0 in the 27 minute of play. U21 Scotland's Larry Lecky played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentine Pereceira in the 32nd minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
The wind increased when Calle Callon made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Scotland's zone, Valentine Pereceira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Larry Lecky came out of the goal and Valentine Pereceira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 61 minutes of play, U21 Ecuador's Valentine Pereceira made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Larry Lecky was left in no man's land by his defense there! Larry Lecky took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentine Pereceira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Evan Oliver fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Scotland's protests and gave Evan Oliver a yellow card for diving instead. U21 Ecuador made a substitution. Danny-Rafael de la Rosa replaced Valentine Pereceira. A collision led to U21 Scotland getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Evan Oliver hit a great ball. Calle Callon's late challenge caught a U21 Scotland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Calle Callon helped the player get up and apologised. Calle Callon kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. U21 Ecuador's Bottero Revillas was substituted for Dani Santaren. A collision led to U21 Ecuador getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Calle Callon hit a great ball. Larry Lecky made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calle Callon in the 77th minute of play. A collision led to U21 Scotland getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Lee Reidfurd replaced Sidney Ince. U21 Scotland's Sam Constable was substituted for Paul McEachin. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Scotland's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Samaniego Nieva was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Michel Foucault got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Larry Lecky quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Larry Lecky came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Ecuador's Calle Callon. But to his dismay, Calle Callon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. U21 Ecuador had won after a very even match.
