In the 15th match minute, U21 England was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wally Ramsden to maneuver through the defense. 16 minutes into the match, U21 England's goal looked a bit too open when Zdenek Linhart came free, but Lewis Bell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Ted Bundy recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jaroslav Chrástek. Ted Bundy showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Czech Republic's goalkeeper Jaroslav Chrástek, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Zdenek Linhart might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lewis Bell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zdenek Linhart ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 26th minute Zdenek Linhart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lewis Bell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ted Bundys short, quick shot in the 30thth minute got Jaroslav Chrástek to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 33 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for U21 Czech Republic! An unexpectedly hard shot by Jakub Kišš in the 38th minute of play forced U21 England's goalkeeper Lewis Bell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ted Bundy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. One of U21 England:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of U21 Czech Republic:s goal. U21 England's Lewis Bell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jakub Kišš in the 68th minute of play. After 69 played minutes U21 Czech Republic got a freekick which was hit by Zdeněk Peterka. U21 Czech Republic's Jarmil Lupač was substituted for Zdenek Linhart.
