U21 Venezuela's Gaztea Araña proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelio Palanca in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gaztea Araña prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rdth minute of the game Tebaldo Renta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Uruguay's Errolan Mouro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Benicio Montalvo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Gaztea Araña when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gilabert Solsona charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilabert Solsona the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 41st match minute, U21 Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilabert Solsona to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nelio Palanca in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gaztea Araña saved U21 Venezuela from getting behind. After the first half U21 Venezuela were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tebaldo Renta to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Benicio Montalvo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaztea Araña saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th match minute, U21 Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cordero Oporto to maneuver through the defense. Gaztea Araña made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Buddy Rich in the 85th minute of play. Vitor Temiño hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Gaztea Araña showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benicio Montalvo, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Jonathan Herces fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Errolan Mouro having to interfere. The U21 Uruguay supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching U21 Venezuela's performance. The match ended with a win for U21 Venezuela.
