Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Rocky Rädle made the kick off and thus started the match. If Tino Muring had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. U21 Germany's Waldo Klein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaron Kultanen in the 9th minute of play. In the 21st match minute, U21 Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olaf Waidner to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olaf Waidner in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Saku Salmelainen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rocky Rädle scored 1-0 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Saku Salmelainen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 30th match minute, U21 Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olaf Waidner to maneuver through the defense. Waldo Klein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Kultanen, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Saku Salmelainen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olaf Waidner in the 36th minute of the match. Tarvo Immonen hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. The corner ended in Carlo Unsöld almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U21 Finland's Saku Salmelainen did a great save. If Osmo Ripatti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olaf Waidner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aaron Kultanen to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to U21 Germany getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Erich Beer hit a great ball. Carlo Unsöld charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlo Unsöld the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Olaf Waidner struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Saku Salmelainen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Germany. Saku Salmelainen came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Germany's Olaf Waidner. But to his dismay, Olaf Waidner quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The audience was convinced that Rocky Rädle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Saku Salmelainen was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tino Muring in the 65th minute of play forced U21 Finland's goalkeeper Saku Salmelainen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute Olaf Waidner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saku Salmelainen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tino Muring in the 68th minute of play forced U21 Finland's goalkeeper Saku Salmelainen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute, Carlo Unsöld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of U21 Finland booed when U21 Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlo Unsöld didn't get a good kick on the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Rocky Rädle notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of U21 Finland's Saku Salmelainen. Saku Salmelainen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. U21 Finland's Saku Salmelainen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rocky Rädle in the 84th minute of play. Tino Muring fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saku Salmelainen having to interfere. Urmas Kuparinen lost his temper 89 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for U21 Finland! In the 92nd minute there was a penalty for U21 Germany. Carlo Unsöld stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Saku Salmelainen. 4-0. After having played for 94 minutes, Timon Kalu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Finland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Timon Kalu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 97 played minutes U21 Germany got a freekick which was hit by Olaf Waidner. U21 Germany's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
