In the 11th minute, U21 Germany's Béla Strothmann ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ulrich-Jürgen Sittarz. Ulrich-Jürgen Sittarz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The audience was convinced that Timo Schlagbauer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bastian Abel was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Ulrich-Jürgen Sittarz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Béla Strothmann in the 15th minute of play. During the 15th minute of the match Andreas Weiand completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Andreas Weiand a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 17th minute Béla Strothmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulrich-Jürgen Sittarz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 19 minutes F.C CAN BÄCKEREI's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edgar Abersell who took care of the corner kick. Michael Weniger was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post.
