Spectators: 10305 (Terracing: 7729, Seating: 2370, VIP seats: 206) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jiří Zukal took the kick off in the first half of the match. When U21 England's Freddy Hawkins in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Czech Republic's goalie prevented a goal. After 13 minutes U21 Czech Republic's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Austen Farmer who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on U21 England's corner Austen Farmer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Maxmilian Indra quite easily take care of the ball. Freddy Hawkins kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in U21 England's zone, Daniel Bělohlávek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pat Jennings came out of the goal and Daniel Bělohlávek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pat Jennings made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lubomír Hůlka in the 17th minute of play. Daniel Bělohlávek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maxmilian Indra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Freddy Hawkins's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Maxmilian Indra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Freddy Hawkins went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 31st minute, Ivo Toth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Czech Republic's Maxmilian Indra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaron Dawson in the 32nd minute of play. Maxmilian Indra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aaron Dawson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Freddy Hawkins in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maxmilian Indra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lubomír Hůlka hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Maxmilian Indra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Freddy Hawkins in the 41st minute of the match. Stefan Armstrong kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. U21 England's Rueben Fowler was substituted for Robert Moorhouse. U21 England made a substitution. Dennis Durkin replaced Austen Farmer. Stefan Armstrong kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. Jiří Zukal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Pat Jennings tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Freddy Hawkins was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Tomáš Čermák hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jiří Zukal in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pat Jennings saved U21 England from getting behind. After 63 played minutes U21 Czech Republic got a freekick which was hit by Jiří Zukal. U21 Czech Republic made a substitution. Jan Jan replaced Tomáš Čermák. After 64 played minutes U21 Czech Republic got a freekick which was hit by Jiří Zukal. Aaron Dawson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 66thth minute, Maxmilian Indra skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 73rd minute, Lubomír Hůlka got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. U21 Czech Republic made a substitution. Kristián Závodský replaced Jiří Zukal. If Kristián Závodský had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kristián Závodský's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pat Jennings read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Kristián Závodský scored 1-2 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pat Jennings, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Pat Jennings showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristián Závodský, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 81 minutes into the match, U21 England's goal looked a bit too open when Kristián Závodský came free, but Pat Jennings reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Aaron Dawson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of U21 England booed when U21 Czech Republic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Bělohlávek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pat Jennings came out of the goal in the 98th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Czech Republic's Lubomír Hůlka. But to his dismay, Lubomír Hůlka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2.
