The crowd rose to their feet as Turkey's Mehmet Arif İlksen slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Drino Lila. That made the score 2-0 after 15 minutes of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Isallari Mërgim in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Igor Akinfeev prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Drino Lila came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Turkey's Mehmet Arif İlksen. But to his dismay, Mehmet Arif İlksen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 26thth minute of the game Mehmet Arif İlksen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Albania's Drino Lila was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Turkey's Cemil Şenbay quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sejfullah Shahini, made in the 30th minute of the game. Igor Akinfeev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isallari Mërgim in the 31st minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Turkey's goal looked a bit too open when Isallari Mërgim came free, but Igor Akinfeev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Turkey's zone, Kajo Sinani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Igor Akinfeev came out of the goal and Kajo Sinani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 41 minutes into the match, Albania's goal looked a bit too open when Mehmet Arif İlksen came free, but Drino Lila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Albania booed when Turkey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cemil Şenbay didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Turkey's Yiğitcan Yücesan was substituted for Mehmet Arif İlksen. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicolás Anelka was the one to do the kick off. Igor Akinfeev made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Isallari Mërgim sent off a good shot on target. Albania's Drino Lila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolás Anelka in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute Yiğitcan Yücesan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Drino Lila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Nicolás Anelka managed to get in a good position for a shot. Turkey's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolás Anelka was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Drino Lila breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nicolás Anelka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Drino Lila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The corner led Turkey's Vural Tolga to fire away a dangerous shot which Drino Lila despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 85th minute Isallari Mërgim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Akinfeev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute, Alperen Vedat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Drino Lila came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Turkey's Nicolás Anelka. But to his dismay, Nicolás Anelka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. The supporters of Turkey booed when Albania was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kajo Sinani didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yiğitcan Yücesan in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Drino Lila saved Albania from getting behind. For all the effort they put into the match, the Albania players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Turkey.
