The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tuan Eubanks could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Danny Pasquier made a huge save. A very good chance. 9 minutes into the game, Victorien Perbet was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Avel Vat's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ACC Mavericks the free kick. Victorien Perbet kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Edmond Kubiak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Bob Hyatt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Merrill Hancock's late challenge caught a Avel Vat's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Merrill Hancock helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Avel Vat booed when ACC Mavericks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Merrill Hancock didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Avel Vat's Danny Pasquier got control of the ball when Tuan Eubanks tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Avel Vat's Sébastien Milliot got a free kick in the 19th minute. If Sébastien Milliot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Danny Pasquier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steve Van Clynenbreugel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmond Kubiak in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bob Hyatt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 34 minutes into the match, Avel Vat's goal looked a bit too open when Steve Van Clynenbreugel came free, but Danny Pasquier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute, ACC Mavericks's Nerio Lopez de Toro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nerio Lopez de Toro made a kick off. Nerio Lopez de Toro struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Danny Pasquier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ACC Mavericks. Danny Pasquier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nerio Lopez de Toro, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. A collision led to Avel Vat getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Billy Bouget hit a great ball. When Marco Nugues fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Avel Vat's protests and gave Marco Nugues a yellow card for diving instead. Danny Pasquier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nerio Lopez de Toro's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. After 71 played minutes, ACC Mavericks's Ahmet Çağrı Kıralp shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Danny Pasquier came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ACC Mavericks reached it. After 80 minutes Avel Vat's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ahmet Çağrı Kıralp who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Ahmet Çağrı Kıralp got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Danny Pasquier quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Steve Van Clynenbreugel scored 4-0 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Danny Pasquier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Steve Van Clynenbreugel might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Danny Pasquier. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Steve Van Clynenbreugel ran back to his position shaking his head. After 87 minutes of play, ACC Mavericks's Conrad Moore made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Danny Pasquier was left in no man's land by his defense there! Aare Fahlgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th minute Edmond Kubiak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bob Hyatt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Avel Vat's Danny Pasquier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steve Van Clynenbreugel in the 96th minute of play.
