The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of ACC Mavericks booed when Racing Miami Futbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 5 minutes into the game, Terry Hinson threw the ball into play from the sideline. Racing Miami Futbol Club's Anton Swanson quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. ACC Mavericks's Bob Hyatt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson in the 14th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Alexis Hoover hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Racing Miami Futbol Club's Anton Swanson quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Terry Hinson, made in the 31st minute of the game. In the 33rd minute, Truman Crockett left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Racing Miami Futbol Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 40thth minute of the game Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ACC Mavericks's Bob Hyatt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Racing Miami Futbol Club's goalkeeper Jarrod Leary, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to ACC Mavericks getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Terry Hinson hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Racing Miami Futbol Club made a substitution. Xu Yuan Lin replaced Larry Cermak. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson to make the kick off. Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bob Hyatt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The tension between the Racing Miami Futbol Club and the ACC Mavericks players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alexis Hoover kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. The Racing Miami Futbol Club players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
