The supporters of JOVENS DE OURO FC booed when Altair FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 7 minutes into the game, Márcio Rosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. JOVENS DE OURO FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Altair FC the free kick. Nilson Quaresma made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A collision led to JOVENS DE OURO FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Edmundo Bittencourt hit a great ball. In the 13th minute of the match Zézinho Mota sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aírton Monteiro skillfully saved the ball. After the first half JOVENS DE OURO FC were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcus Vidal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Altair FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Adrianinho Dionísio scored to the left of an out of position Nilson Quaresma, making the score, 0-6. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremias Figueiredo during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jeremias Figueiredo hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute, José Paulo Lira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The JOVENS DE OURO FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. Alfredinho Loyola's late challenge caught a Altair FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Vítor Porto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-8. Alfredinho Loyola came free with the goalkeeper in the 93rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nilson Quaresma could save by the left post. Aírton Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Vidal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. JOVENS DE OURO FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
