The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, A.A. Francana's Sandrinho Veiga got control of the ball when Ciriaco Ortle tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to San Martin de Tucuman getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. German Berto hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, A.A. Francana's Ruy Fantini got a free kick in the 7th minute. After 10 played minutes A.A. Francana got a freekick which was hit by Kiko Santos. In the 15th minute, Jean de Barros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Evaristo Giraldo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After having played for 21 minutes, Jean de Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.A. Francana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jean de Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, A.A. Francana's Válbson Soeiro got a free kick in the 33rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oscar Ibar during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sandrinho Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Dunixi, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 72nd minute, Armando Orlando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute Martin Teyo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francana's Sandrinho Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonardo Dunixi in the 91st minute of play. Sandrinho Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Dunixi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A.A. Francana's Sandrinho Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonardo Dunixi in the 96th minute of play. The A.A. Francana supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing A.A. Francana would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
